Standard

Known for her avant-garde and attention grabbing designs, Roksanda Ilincic has become a major sensation in the style world. Based in London, the Belgrade born designer’s background includes graduating from the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, and starting her solo designing career over 10 years ago. Roksanda Ilincic’s designs have appeared on the runway, red carpets, and of course, on celebrities such as Kate Middleton (The Duchess of Cambridge), Keira Knightley, and Lady Gaga.

Below is one of Roksanda Ilincic’s Spring 2012 designs recently worn by Lady Gaga.

Furthermore, Roksanda Ilincic has an amazing Spring 2012 collection and Pre-Fall 2012 collection, and her Fall collection -debuting in London fashion week next week- is sure to be just as (if not more so) dramatic, delightful, and devour-worthy.

Here are some looks from her Spring Collection….

I love the vivid shades in combination with the fabrics and how they pop… she is definitely a designer to keep an eye on!

Happy Groundhog Day!

Standard

For my fellow Americans (mostly Pennsylvanians), I’d like to start off my first post by wishing you a happy Groundhog day! If you don’t know about “Groundhog day”, here is a great link that will tell you all about this quirky tradition: http://www.groundhog.org/. Now, I know some of you are a little saddened by Punxsutawney Phil’s prediction of 6 more weeks of winter… but in fairness it IS only February 2nd, so maybe we should cut him some slack. I’m assuming most of you realize that the only way it’s going to be 80 degrees at this point in the year is if 1.) you live in Florida, below the equator, or in a desert, or 2.) we really have ruined the planet with global warming. Now for those of you depressed by the looming days ahead, I found this gem for $62.67 on ASOS.com:

For those of you choosing to be optimists this year (even though the world may be ending- hey, it’s better late than never!), here is a fabulous dress that reminds me of spring (also from ASOS.com):

This dress is a wonderful nude shade with a great shape to it and the fabric belt really cinches in the waist. The back is beautiful as well with a hidden zipper and open keyhole design. Worn with nude, black, or even printed pumps and some bangles, it’s perfect for a date night out. Plus, ASOS gives 10% off to students year round! So if you aren’t a student, it’s time to make some student friends! The price is $85.94.

More to come so keep checking back!
